Food Photos and AI Processing

Snap a Plate allows you to take or upload a photograph of food so artificial intelligence can analyze what appears in the image and generate an estimated recipe.

Uploaded photographs and related information may be processed by third-party technology providers that help us provide services such as artificial intelligence, hosting, data storage, security, and app functionality.

Only upload photographs that you have the right to use. We recommend avoiding photographs containing identifiable people, sensitive personal information, documents, addresses, or other information that is not necessary to generate a recipe.

How We Use Your Information

Information may be used to:

  • Provide AI-powered recipe generation

  • Create and maintain your account

  • Save and retrieve recipes

  • Allow you to edit and search saved recipes

  • Maintain your personal Recipe Book

  • Track recipe-scan allowances

  • Provide and manage subscription features

  • Maintain and improve the app

  • Troubleshoot technical problems

  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use

  • Provide customer support

AI-Generated Recipes

Snap a Plate uses artificial intelligence to estimate recipes based on food photographs.

AI-generated recipes may be inaccurate or incomplete. A photograph cannot reliably identify every ingredient, quantity, seasoning, cooking method, allergen, internal temperature, or food-safety condition.

Always independently verify ingredients, allergens, cooking instructions, safe cooking temperatures, and other food-safety information before preparing or consuming a recipe.

Snap a Plate should not be relied upon to determine whether food is safe for someone with a food allergy, intolerance, or medical dietary restriction.

Payments and Subscriptions

Snap a Plate may offer paid subscriptions.

Payments may be processed by the applicable app marketplace or another third-party payment provider. When payment information is handled by a third-party payment provider, Snap a Plate does not directly receive or store your complete payment-card information.

Additional information regarding subscription billing, renewal, and cancellation will be provided when paid subscriptions are activated.

Third-Party Service Providers

Snap a Plate may use third-party providers to help operate the app, including services for artificial intelligence, hosting, databases, storage, security, analytics, authentication, communications, and payment processing.

These providers may process information as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are subject to their own contractual and legal obligations.
