Snap A Plate - Terms Of Use

Welcome to Snap a Plate. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Snap a Plate mobile application and related services.
By creating an account or using Snap a Plate, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. About Snap a Plate
Snap a Plate allows users to take or upload photographs of food and receive an artificial intelligence-generated estimated recipe based on what appears in the photograph.
Features may include AI recipe generation, recipe editing, saved recipes, a personal Recipe Book, recipe search, and subscription-based recipe-generation allowances.
2. AI-Generated Recipe Disclaimer
Snap a Plate uses artificial intelligence to generate estimated recipes.
Snap a Plate does not guarantee that AI will correctly identify the photographed dish or accurately determine the ingredients, quantities, seasonings, preparation methods, cooking times, temperatures, or other information used to prepare the food shown.
AI-generated recipes should be treated as suggestions and starting points rather than exact recreations of photographed food.
3. Food Safety and Allergens
A photograph cannot reliably determine whether food contains a particular ingredient or allergen.
Do not rely on Snap a Plate to determine whether food is safe for someone with a food allergy, intolerance, medical dietary restriction, or other health-related dietary requirement.
Users are responsible for independently verifying:
Ingredients
Allergens
Dietary restrictions
Cooking instructions
Safe internal cooking temperatures
Food handling and storage
Overall food safety
Snap a Plate cannot determine whether meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, or other foods are safely cooked based solely on a photograph.
4. Free Recipe Scan
Eligible new Snap a Plate accounts currently receive:
1 free AI recipe scan.
The free scan allows users to experience the photo-to-recipe feature before purchasing a subscription.
Snap a Plate may take reasonable measures to prevent abuse of free accounts, including attempts to create multiple accounts for the primary purpose of obtaining additional free scans.
5. Premium Monthly Membership
Snap a Plate currently plans to offer:
Premium Monthly — $7.99 per month
Premium Monthly includes up to 25 AI recipe scans per monthly allowance period.
The scan allowance resets monthly. Unless otherwise stated, unused scans do not roll over into future months.
6. Premium Annual Membership
Snap a Plate currently plans to offer:
Premium Annual — $79.99 per year
Premium Annual includes up to 25 AI recipe scans each month while the annual subscription remains active.
Annual subscribers do not receive all annual recipe scans at once. The scan allowance resets to 25 each monthly allowance period.
Unless otherwise stated, unused scans do not roll over.
7. Subscriptions, Renewal and Cancellation
Paid subscriptions may automatically renew unless canceled before renewal in accordance with the terms and procedures of the platform or payment provider through which the subscription was purchased.
Subscription billing, cancellation, refund eligibility, and renewal may also be subject to the rules of Apple, Google, or another payment provider used to complete the purchase.
Canceling a subscription generally prevents future renewal but does not necessarily provide a refund for a subscription period that has already been purchased.
Where applicable, users can manage or cancel subscriptions through the platform through which the subscription was purchased.
8. Saved Recipes After Cancellation
Canceling Premium does not automatically delete recipes previously saved to your Recipe Book.
After paid access ends, previously saved recipes may remain accessible. However, additional AI recipe generation may require an active Premium subscription once the user's free recipe scan has been used.
9. Prices and Plan Changes
Snap a Plate may change subscription prices, recipe-scan allowances, features, or membership structures in the future.
Any changes affecting existing paid subscriptions will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the requirements of the applicable payment platform.
10. User Accounts
Certain features require a user account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials and for activity occurring through your account.
You agree to provide accurate information and not impersonate another person or create accounts for fraudulent or abusive purposes.
11. Uploaded Photos and Content
You retain responsibility for photographs and other content you upload to Snap a Plate.
By uploading content, you confirm that you have the right to use that content and authorize Snap a Plate and its service providers to process it as reasonably necessary to provide the requested app functionality.
You may not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, malicious, abusive, or that violates another person's privacy, intellectual-property rights, or other legal rights.
12. Restaurant and Third-Party Food Photos
Snap a Plate may attempt to generate an estimated recipe from a photograph of food prepared by a restaurant or another third party.
The resulting recipe is an AI-generated estimate. Snap a Plate does not claim to know, reproduce, or provide the restaurant's or third party's actual proprietary recipe.
13. Generated Recipes and User Edits
Users may edit AI-generated recipes and save modified recipes to their Recipe Book.
Snap a Plate does not guarantee that a generated or edited recipe will produce a particular taste, appearance, texture, nutritional value, or result.
Users are responsible for reviewing recipes and deciding whether and how to prepare them.
14. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Snap a Plate to:
Circumvent recipe-scan limits or subscription restrictions
Gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the service
Submit malicious code or harmful content
Use automated methods to abuse or overload the service
Violate applicable laws or regulations
Infringe another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights
Use the service for fraudulent or deceptive purposes
15. Service Availability
Snap a Plate may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues, third-party service interruptions, AI-provider availability, updates, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We do not guarantee that Snap a Plate will always be available or operate without interruption or error.
16. Intellectual Property
The Snap a Plate name, branding, app design, original written content, and other proprietary materials associated with Snap a Plate are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants users ownership of Snap a Plate's intellectual property.
Users remain responsible for rights relating to photographs and other content they upload.
17. Account Suspension or Termination
Snap a Plate may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the service when reasonably necessary because of fraud, abuse, violation of these Terms, threats to service security, unlawful activity, or other misuse.
Users may request deletion of their accounts as described in the Snap a Plate Privacy Policy and account-deletion process.
18. No Warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Snap a Plate is provided on an “as is” and “as available”basis.
We do not guarantee that AI-generated recipes will be accurate, complete, safe, suitable for a particular person, or identical to the food shown in a photograph.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Snap a Plate and its owners, operators, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages resulting from use of or reliance on the service or AI-generated information.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
20. Privacy
Your use of Snap a Plate is also subject to the Snap a Plate Privacy Policy, which explains how information may be collected, used, processed, and protected.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Snap a Plate develops or as legal, technical, or business requirements change.
When these Terms are updated, the revised version will display a new Last Updated date.
